Hero Future Energies (HFE) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd (SECI) for a 270 MW solar with energy storage system (ESS) project.
The company had secured the 270 MW capacity under SECI’s ISTS XVII tender (2 GW Solar + 4 GWh ESS) at a tariff of INR 3.52/kWh.
“This is the second such project awarded by SECI, which combines solar with integrated storage. This testifies to HFE’s expertise in complex projects that incorporate storage for firmer supply of green power,” stated HFE.
HFE will develop the project on a build-own-operate basis. The project can be located anywhere in India and must connect to the interstate transmission system.
As per the tender, “ESS of at least 0.5 MW/2 MWh capacity for each 1 MW solar project capacity must be installed as part of the project.”
