Datta Infra commits INR 5,000-crore renewable energy investment in Rajasthan

Datta Power Infra will invest INR 5,000 crore in setting up 1 GW of wind, solar, and wind-solar hybrid projects in the Indian state of Rajasthan. For the proposed investment, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Rajasthan at the Rising Rajasthan 2024 event. 

Varchasvi Gagal, CEO & managing director, Datta Power Infra, said, “Datta Infra is committed to developing Rajasthan as a major hub for renewable energy, encompassing solar, wind, and hybrid power projects, across Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Nagaur, Pratapgarh and Jodhpur districts.” 

Datta Infra intends to set up 1 GW of RE projects connected to the state transmission utility (STU), including under KUSUM Scheme,  creating 500 to 750 jobs in the region. 

Rajeev Kumar Bansal, CFO, Datta Power Infra, “This strategic investment aligns with our long-term growth plans to increase our renewable energy portfolio by 30% over the next five years…In the short term, we anticipate a strong positive impact on both the regional economy and our bottom line, with expected revenue growth of 15-20% by the end of FY 2025.” 

Datta Infra, established by Varchasvi Gagal and Kuldeep Singh, is focused on the end-to-end development of renewable energy projects. It has executed renewable energy projects encompassing site development, transmission lines, and civil works for over 2 GW of capacity in Rajasthan. It also provides comprehensive services across the renewable energy project lifecycle, including project planning, land acquisition, engineering, procurement, construction, transmission, substation and O&M.
