Waaree introduced a 420 Wp mono PERC flexible, light-weight solar module at Intersolar India last week. The module, launched under FLW series, weighs 10.5±0.5 kg and measures 2,200×1,060×20 mm.

Waaree’s FLW series flexible, lightweight solar panels seamlessly integrate into diverse environments. These are ideal for applications where traditional rigid panels may pose challenges.

Waaree stated it can offer completely customized, flexible solutions from 3 Wp to 500 Wp to suit customer needs. Further, the modules can be offered with a white or black backsheet. Mounting options include mechanical and peel-and-stick.

The FLW series modules use a scratch-resistant composite glass polymer as the first layer, which also prevents dust accumulation. Multiple layers of encapsulants make the modules flexible as well as durable.

Conventional solar panels are heavy and rigid. These require mounting structures and penetration of roofs, which results in high additional costs. Waaree stated its flexible modules are up to 70% lighter than conventional glass panels. These seamlessly integrate with the underlying installation surface and can be easily installed even on dome-shaped structures and tent fabrics.

Applications include rooftops, EVs, portable power solutions, camping, military and defence, and more.

The modules are optimized for maximum performance in scattered light and extreme weather conditions. These are compatible with lead-acid, AGM, gel, and lithium batteries.
