Uttarakhand seeks installers for solar plants under self-employment scheme

The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) has invited firms to technically support installing small-size grid-connected solar plants under Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana in the State of Uttarakhand.

The Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana aims at creating self-employment for nearly 10,000 youths and migrants from the state who have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the scheme, 10,000 solar power plants (in sizes up to 25 kWp) will be allotted to various applicants in the FY 2020-21, which are to be installed and commissioned before March 2022.

A 25 kWp plant can generate 38,000 units of electricity annually at a rate of 1520 units per kW under solar irradiation availability in the state. The maximum benchmark rate for the plants has been fixed at Rs 40,000 per kWp. Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited will sign a power purchase agreement with the beneficiaries for 25 years.

The purpose of the empanelment of capable firms is to support the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana, who don’t have enough experience in this field, and for quality assurance.

The payment against installation and commissioning will be made by the concerned applicant or the bank that has sanctioned the loan.

The work scope includes design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and maintenance during the guarantee period of prescribed capacity.

The empanelled firms must supply all the material within three months, and the installation and commissioning of the plant should not exceed six months from the date of receiving the work order.
