Bhadla 750 MW solar project winners revealed

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), today, has announced the solar power developers, who won the Bhadla Solar Park Phase-III and Phase-IV bids worth 750 MW PV projects in Rajasthan in an e-reverse auction concluded in December 2017.

500 MW Phase-III

Hero Solar Energy Pvt Ltd has been awarded a 300 MW capacity. The company has won the solar project by quoting INR 2.47 ($0.0379)/kWh. Whereas, bidding at a tariff rate of INR 2.48 ($0.0381)/kWh, SBE Four Ltd has won a 200 MW capacity.

The attractive tariff rates are just slightly higher than the lowest record tariff of INR 2.44/kWh, which was also registered here at Bhadla Solar Park.

250 MW Phase-IV

Maximum capacity of the project has been won by Azure Power India Pvt Ltd, which the company had announced at the beginning of this year.  The company has won a 200 MW capacity at a tariff rate of INR 2.48/kWh.

Rest of the 50 MW has been awarded to ReNew Solar Power Pvt Ltd. The company quoted one paise per kWh more than the Azure, i.e., INR 2.49 ($0.0383)/kWh.

Lately, in November 2017, SECI had also signed the power purchase agreements (PPAs) for 750 MW projects, where it attracted the lowest bid in India.

SECI has also announced the winner of a small 5 MW grid-connected solar PV project to be installed at Ordnance factory located in the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Giriraj Renewabkes Pvt Ltd has won the project with the tariff rate of INR 4.18 ($0.064)/kWh, includes Viability Gap Funding (VGF) from the government.
