CEL announces 120 MW PV tender

Sahibabad-based CEL has released a tender for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and 25 year operation and maintenance of 120 MW worth of grid tied solar PV plants.

The projects, ranging from 500 kW to 3 MW, will be installed at various locations in the states of Gujarat, Telengana and Maharashtra. The exact locations, to be provided by CEL, will be announced at the time of the purchase order.

Under the auction’s conditions, the successful bidders must open a site office within 15 days of being awarded the contract. Meanwhile, for the projects, CEL will supply up to 300W of solar PV modules, and an appropriate amount of inverters.

Developers are also responsible for the construction of an 11 kV transmission line, the receipt of lines from the plant end, and a designated feeder at the substation.

The minimum capacity for bidding is 12 MW and  submissions are due on January 17, 2018. Once the project has been awarded and the site provided, the developer must commission the project within 180 days.

Other CEL tenders

CEL has also announced tenders for the supply of mono- and multi-crystalline solar cells of more than 5 W and 4.43 W with four busbars. The exact purpose of the procurement is not mentioned, but CEL has indicated that they are for commercial use.

Finally, it announced a tender for the supply of balance of system equipment, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power plants on 18 non-AC railway coaches. Plants will range in size from 2.5 to 7 kW.

The developer must start the project within 15 days of receiving the purchase order, and should complete it within 150 days. The bid submission is due on January 11, 2018.
