EVs: India lacks authorized Lithium-ion battery recycling facilities

Any proponent can install such facility in the country, said Minister of State for Environment, Forest And Climate Change, noting that technologies are available for complete recycling of lithium batteries to recover valuable metals.

Renewable energy: 7,592 MW commissioned in first nine months of the fiscal year

Capacity additions for the current fiscal year are set to exceed the previous accounting period’s 8,532 MW. With Rs405 billion invested in clean energy in the last fiscal year, spending in the first nine months of 2019-20 has been estimated at Rs367 billion.

Indian Railways to become world’s first 100% green operator, says minister

The plan, announced in parliament, is an extension to the bid to install 1 GW of solar generation capacity during the current fiscal year and hit 5 GW in 2025. The emphasis will be on trackside and static rooftop installations rather than solar train roofs, said the minister for railways.
