Introducing the initiative, the Tata Power-DDL spokesperson said, “Empowering young professionals with future-ready green energy skills is essential for driving India’s clean energy transition. With structured training and on-ground engagement, these ambassadors will act as catalysts for change—enabling households to confidently adopt solar energy and contributing to a resilient and self-reliant energy ecosystem.”
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Ravi Dadhich, Special Secretary (Power), Government of Delhi, said, “India’s clean energy transition depends significantly on how effectively we empower the next generation. Through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Government of India aims to create one crore solar-powered households across the country. While available space for solar installations may be limited, it is imperative that we optimally utilise every possible rooftop and surface. Initiatives like Tata Power-DDL’s Solar Ambassador programme play a crucial role in bridging policy intent with grassroots action by creating informed advocates who can drive awareness, adoption, and long-term impact at the community level.”
The campaign, spearheaded by Tata Power-DDL’s Solar Group, aspires to elevate the role of local communities and the younger generation in fostering sustainable development, thereby making a substantial contribution to India’s national clean energy mission.
