India’s largest hydropower generation company, NHPC has commissioned its first solar project in the state of Tamil Nadu. The announcement was made on bombay stock exchange (BSE), on March 23.
The 50 MW PV power plant is installed in Theni, Dindigul District, in the western region of Tamil Nadu.
The project is part of the MoU signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on November 30, 2015, for development of 250 MW grid-connected solar power project in India in a time frame of five years from the date of signing.
