Gujarat’s rapid emergence as India’s clean energy powerhouse has created strong momentum for infrastructure development across the state, Godrej Enterprises Group’s Energy Solutions business is expanding its role in this transformation through a growing portfolio of power transmission and renewable energy projects. As part of its long-term commitment to the state, Gujarat has contributed 15–20% of the division’s total revenue, and the business aims to increase this to 25% by FY27, driven by large-scale initiatives that support both regional progress and India’s broader renewable energy ambitions through major projects including the 400 kV GIS Substation Development and the 765 kV GIS Bay Extension.

Gujarat holds a central place in India’s shift toward clean power, with 35.16 GW of installed renewable energy capacity and aims to achieve 50% renewable energy capacity by 2030. A key focus area for the business is the Khavda Renewable Energy Park, one of the largest renewable energy developments globally. To strengthen power evacuation from this region, the company is constructing a 400 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear substation equipped with a 1.2 GW Power System Stabilizer. Alongside this, Godrej is expanding the state’s transmission capacity through a 765 kV GIS bay extension project that enhances connectivity between Khavda, Lakadia, Banaskantha and Ahmedabad. These projects, designed for high reliability and efficient performance in Kutch’s demanding climatic conditions, will significantly boost Gujarat’s ability to integrate large-scale solar and wind power into the grid.

Mr. Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Energy Solutions business, a part of Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “Gujarat is at the forefront of India’s clean energy transition, and we are proud to contribute to this momentum through critical transmission projects that will enable large-scale renewable integration. Our projects are designed to strengthen the backbone of the state’s transmission network and support India’s clean energy ambitions. These initiatives are core to our nation-building vision and to India’s journey toward 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based power by 2030. We look forward to expanding our contribution in Gujarat as we pursue sustained growth in the state.”

The company’s growing role in powering Gujarat’s transition is reflected in the Energy Solutions business’ strong order book of over ₹1,800 crores for FY25, with Gujarat contributing significantly to this growth. Over the next three years, the business is targeting ₹2,000 crore in revenue growth, supported by a deep pipeline of high-value renewable energy and power infrastructure projects across the state. This sustained momentum underscores Godrej Enterprises Group’s commitment to supporting both Gujarat’s progress and India’s broader goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based power by 2030.
