Apraava Energy, India’s leading integrated energy solutions provider, has achieved the milestone of positively impacting over two million lives through its social impact initiatives, a goal it set in 2021. Over this period, Apraava has implemented 232 projects through focused community efforts, reaching 560+ villages across 12 states.
Apraava’s Integrated Village Development Model empowers rural communities through participatory planning and locally tailored interventions across agriculture, health, education, and livelihoods. To drive this impact, Apraava has partnered with 30+ non-profit and community-based organisations, aligning its initiatives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Over the past five years, Apraava has directly benefited more than 12,000 women, and supported hundreds of women entrepreneurs through initiatives like Aarohan, Project Uday and Udyogini. Youth-focused programmes like the Jai Jawan Raksha Academy and rural STEM education have enhanced employability and learning.
Under its climate action and mitigation, Apraava has planted over 2,50,000 trees, built and renovated more than 400 watershed structures, resulting in 100+ water-secure villages. By supporting 12,000+ farmers in stubble management, the company has helped mitigate 1.2 lakh tonnes of stubble burning. Clean energy projects like biogas plants are also improving the quality of life in rural kitchens.
In line with its sustainable development agenda, Apraava is also investing in solar-energy based initiatives for underserved communities. This includes solar streetlights, e-shalas, and off-grid solar systems, while simultaneously training local youth and electricians to maintain these systems. Thus far, it has been instrumental in enabling 46 villages with solar energy interventions.
To improve access to healthcare and renewable energy, Apraava has deployed mobile healthcare vans, upgraded Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and introduced solar-powered lights, water heaters, and e-learning systems in remote schools.
Commenting on the achievement, Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Managing Director, Apraava Energy, “At Apraava, our social initiatives go beyond fulfilling a CSR mandate – they reflect our commitment to our core belief in ‘Energy in action’. Through our efforts, we aim to empower vulnerable and underserved communities by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to improve their quality of life and actively contribute to the nation’s growth. We are deeply grateful to our partners and the communities we serve for their trust, collaboration, and continued support in bringing this vision to life.”
“This milestone highlights the impact we can create through shared effort and meaningful community engagement. At Apraava, we focus on real needs, working closely with our partners and local communities to create lasting impact. As we grow, we remain deeply committed to supporting inclusive development and contributing to the nation’s progress,” said Dr. Priyesh Modi, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility, Apraava Energy.
Building on this momentum and the company’s ongoing business growth, Apraava aims to scale its efforts, strengthen local partnerships, and deepen alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals – continuing its journey of empowerment, sustainability, and shared progress.
