MAHAPREIT, GEAPP partner on 1 GW of solar projects in Maharashtra

Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd (MAHAPREIT) have signed a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) to implement 1 GW of solar projects across Maharashtra.

Commissioning extension for solar projects only on case-by-case basis, says MNRE

Solar Energy Corp. of India, NTPC, and NHPC would examine developers’ requests for an extension to their solar and wind-solar projects on a case-by-case basis. The extension would be granted only if the developer has taken all possible measures to implement the project (such as land acquisition and order for module/balance-of-system supply) but couldn’t complete it for reasons beyond his control.

4T silicon-perovskite PV cell hits 26.03% efficiency with transparent contact

Indian scientists have built a four-terminal silicon-perovskite solar cell that uses a top perovskite device with an efficiency of up to 17.1%. The top cell incorporates a room-temperature sputtered transparent conducting electrode (TCE) as a rear electrode.

Exide targets 12 GWh of li-ion cell capacity by 2027

Gayatri Dadheech, chief technology officer at Exide Industries Ltd, told pv magazine their first-phase 6 GWh lithium-ion cell manufacturing capacity in India would become operational by December next year and will produce lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) and nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cells. The following 6 GWh, targeted by 2027, could be based on advanced lithium-ion, solid-state, or other battery technology.
