The Solar Energy Corporation of India has issued amendments to the procurement and extended the bidding deadline a second time.

The state-run hydropower company is targeting 340-350 MW of generation capacity in the 1.5 GW tender being held by SECI and state utility Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikash Nigam Limited. NHDC has opened a global tender to seek a panel supplier.

Heavy industry players Dalmia Cement (Bharat) and Hindalco are among the companies committed to enhancing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and circular economy across their member companies and supply chains. Other signatories included Siemens Energy India, Thermax, Shell Group of Companies India and Tata Consulting Engineers.

The Summit will see the signing of four partnership agreements, including one between India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, World Bank, and International Solar Alliance.

The new Indo-Danish cooperation will prepare the Indian energy system for the integration of 450 GW renewable energy by 2030. It will focus on knowledge exchange in areas such as energy planning and scenario modelling, integration of high share of renewable energy, power system flexibility and electricity markets.

Developers have until June 30 to lodge bids to develop plots of solar capacity across the national rail network paying no more than Rs2.71/kWh for the electricity generated under a 25-year contract.

The government has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar to inter-alia improve power connectivity and enhance energy trading in the region.

Proposals must reach the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, and Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of the Republic of Korea by May 8. Each selected project will be funded for a period of three years.
