ReNew Power commissions 105 MW solar project in Gujarat

The Indian developer has followed up the commissioning of a 110 MW solar plant in Rajasthan earlier this month with a 105 MW PV farm in Gujarat. The Gujarat plant will supply electricity to state Discom Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) at a tariff of INR 2.68/kWh (US$0.036/kWh).

Developers can compete for a minimum of 50 MW, up to all 1200 MW tendered capacity. The projects—to be developed on a build-own-operate basis—can be set up anywhere in India at the locations chosen by the developer. Bidding closes on May 28.

Canadian Solar begins production of 640-665 W panel series

The panel was unveiled in October and is the most powerful product the company has brought to the market to date. The Chinese-Canadian manufacturer expects to reach, for this product, a 10 GW capacity by the end of the year.
