Apple claims to be 100% renewable-powered

Technology multinational, Apple Inc. has announced that its global operations are now 100% powered by clean energy. Manipur sees 640 kW of completed solar rooftop systems

Freyr Energy has completed 640 kW of solar PV rooftop plants in Manipur, North East India, including a 100 kW off-grid battery powered system, for a total investment of around INR 50 million (around US$769,175).

2018: India second largest solar market on back of 113 GW global installations

With 11 GW, India is set to become the second largest solar PV market in 2018, usurping the U.S., as global demand reaches 113 GW, says IHS Markit. It adds that Q4 will be the biggest quarter in history for installations, with 34 GW expected.

Azure Power wins 200 MW in Gujarat

The New Delhi-based solar energy firm has won a 200 MW solar PV project to be developed outside a solar park in Gujarat, in an auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The project will be commissioned by the year 2019.

Coal India targets 20 GW solar projects in next 10 years

Coal India Ltd, the world’s largest coal producer company, has set the target of 20 GW solar PV installations in the next 10 years. To achieve the ambitious goal, the fossil fuel run firm will require an investment of approximately INR 900 billion ($13.8 billion).

Bhadla 750 MW solar project winners revealed

Solar Energy Corporation of India has revealed the winners of the Bhadla solar park 500MW Phase-III, and 250 MW Phase-IV solar projects. Azure Power, Hero, and SBE Four came up as the big winners.
