Building the green hydrogen economy in India

Experts at a recent workshop by industry body India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) and the government thinktank NITI Aayog proposed the formation of a public-private taskforce to develop gigawatt-scale green hydrogen hubs in India. The taskforce will have participation from global funding agencies, industry and government.

IEA outlines plan to rapidly reduce dominant role of Russia in Europe’s energy markets

The International Energy Agency has published a 10-point plan for Europe to reduce its reliance on natural gas imported from Russia. The plan would see Russian gas imports to EU member states reduced by one third within a year, and notes that further reductions within this timeframe would come with significant tradeoffs, likely to impact both energy prices and Europe’s Green Deal. The plan was presented by Fatih Birol, executive director of the IEA, in a virtual press conference held earlier today.

Bidders have until March 22 to lodge interest for setting up a 25MW (AC) solar power plant at Bhojudih Coal Washery of Bharat Coking Coal Limited.

Rajasthan to host 1.8GW of new solar parks in Jaisalmer and Bikaner

The Indian State of Rajasthan, with 10,560MW of installed solar power capacity, will have an 800MW solar park in Jaisalmer developed through Rajasthan Power Generation Corporation. Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company, a Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation subsidiary, will build a 1,000MW solar park in Bikaner.

Roadmap for solar module recycling in Bangladesh

Bangladesh currently does not have a recycling center for PV module recycling. But according to a group of local scientists, the country could evolve into a regional hub for PV waste recycling if proper guidelines are implemented.

Solar module anti-soiling coating for retrofit application

Dutch company Rads Global Business has developed an anti-soiling coating for solar PV modules that are at least two years old. The new product is claimed to increase power yield by up to 7% and to have a payback time of 2.5 to four years depending on the dust level of the site.
