Sunsure Energy has started supplying solar power to Max Healthcare Institute’s Super Speciality Hospital in Noida under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
Under the agreement, Max Healthcare is sourcing electricity from Sunsure Energy’s 15 MW open-access solar plant in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh. The company said the arrangement will allow the hospital to procure renewable power at nearly 50% lower cost than grid electricity, reducing its dependence on conventional energy sources.
Sunsure Energy estimates that the switch to solar power will help the hospital offset around 4,500 tons of CO₂ emissions annually, amounting to more than 113,000 tons over the project’s lifetime.
“Healthcare represents one of the most critical and energy-intensive sectors in India. While we have been serving pharmaceutical manufacturing giants, we are delighted that this is our first project in supplying reliable green power to hospitals,” said Shashank Sharma, Founder, CEO & Chairman, Sunsure Energy. “This partnership reflects Sunsure’s commitment to enabling India’s institutions — especially in healthcare and pharmaceutical industry — transition to green power seamlessly.”
The development comes as Sunsure expands its footprint in Uttar Pradesh under its ‘UP Shakti’ initiative. In September 2025, the company commissioned its 10th solar plant in the state, taking its total operational open-access capacity in Uttar Pradesh to more than 260 MWp. Its industrial customers in the state include Dabur, Inox Air Products, Kajaria, Gallant Ispat, APL Apollo, Merino Industries, and Orient Bell.
Sunsure aims to scale its operational capacity in Uttar Pradesh to 500 MW by the end of FY 2026 with a mix of solar and storage capabilities.
