REIL tenders 17.5 MW rooftop solar across government buildings in India

Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) has invited bids for the installation of 17.5 MWp of grid-connected rooftop solar power capacity under RESCO model across government, semi-government, and autonomous body buildings in multiple Indian states and union territories.

The aims for this project to reduce the fossil fuel based electricity and make buildings self-sustainable from the point of electricity. The generated solar power will be utilized for captive consumption and the surplus power fed to the grid under applicable net-metering regulations.

REIL will act as the implementing agency for the installation of solar power plants, with the selected developers responsible for designing, installing, commissioning, and operating solar power plants primarily on rooftops and surplus land at identified buildings.

The scope of work includes identification of new rooftops and surplus land, solar potential assessment, finalization of plant capacity, submission of proposal, execution of power purchase agreement, complete design, engineering, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning, inter-connections with the grid for net metering, and operation and maintenance for a period of 25 years after commissioning of the projects. The bidder shall be responsible in ascertaining and certifying the strength of civil structure on which rooftop solar plant shall be set up.
