NTPC has announced the commercial operation of 359.58 MW of solar capacity across projects of its subsidiaries in Gujarat and Rajasthan, taking the Group’s total commercial capacity to 85.5 GW+.
The newly declared capacities include 243.66 MW from the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project and 37.925 MW from the 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project under the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche-V Project in Gujarat by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL). Additionally, the company operationalised the final 78 MW capacity of the Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan.
With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC group has reached 85,541 MW. It has an additional capacity of 30.90 GW under construction, including 13.3 GW of renewable energy capacity. The company targets 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, strengthening India’s Net Zero goals.
