NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has announced the commissioning of 75.5 MW of solar capacity at the 1,255 MW Khavda-I solar energy project in Gujarat. The project is being developed under Tranche-III of the Phase-II Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme.
The newly commissioned capacity at Khavda, has been developed through NTPC’s wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL).
With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of NGEL increases to 7,639.075 MW.
Under the CPSU Scheme, government producers develop grid-connected solar projects with viability gap funding (VGF), with the power generated used for self-consumption or sold to a designated off-taker.
