State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL), the world’s largest coal producer, is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from EPC players for the development of 3 GW of grid-connected solar power projects in regions with significant solar energy potential across India. Tentative locations include the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.

The scope of work will involve the turnkey execution of the entire solar power plant, including the supply of solar PV modules, land procurement, and the balance of system (BoS).

Based on the responses received, CIL will initiate a tendering process to select EPC-cum-O&M contractors for the projects. The plants must be designed for interconnection with the nearby Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network.

Interested applicants can propose capacities ranging from 200 MW to 3,000 MW, depending on their capabilities. The proposed solar installations must achieve a minimum Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 25%.
