Jupiter International Ltd, a leading PV cells manufacturer and solar power solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a vertically integrated solar manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur.
The expected investment for this project is around INR 10,900 crore. The facility will span the complete value chain — including solar wafer manufacturing, new technology solar cell production, and solar module manufacturing — making it a comprehensive solar infrastructure project.
This project is expected to generate over 8,300 employment opportunities.
“This investment reflects our long-term commitment to building India’s renewable energy future through technology, scale, and regional empowerment. We are thankful to the Government of Maharashtra for their continued support and guidance” said Alok Garodia, managing director, Jupiter International Ltd.
Jupiter International has a cumulative PV cell manufacturing capacity of 1 GW from its two manufacturing facilities of 500 MW capacity each in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The upcoming Nagpur plant is a strategic expansion of the company’s manufacturing footprint and forms a critical part of its vision to build a vertically integrated solar power platform.
