Godrej Enterprises Group today announced that its energy solutions business has commissioned its first solar carport installation at a leading IT company in Noida.

Spanning 31,984 sq. m, the installation is equipped with over 1,031 high-efficiency solar panels to generate around 7,31,900 kWh (units) annually. This will help offset nearly 6,00,158 kg of CO₂ emissions every year, which is equivalent to planting over 27,568 mature trees. The dual-purpose structure not only provides shaded parking for 400 vehicles but also transforms underutilised urban spaces into renewable energy hubs.

Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Energy Solutions, a part of Godrej Enterprises, said, “With cities becoming denser and space growing scarcer, infrastructure must evolve to be both intelligent and sustainable. This solar carport exemplifies our approach to nation building engineering solutions that not only meet the energy needs of urban India but also strengthen its climate resilience.”

As Tier 1 cities grapple with space constraints for large-scale solar installations, solar carports are emerging as a smart and scalable solution for corporates to integrate renewable energy within their existing infrastructure. Godrej’s design seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetics, creating a blueprint for future-ready urban developments.
