India’s Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar PV cells. The list features six domestic manufacturers FS India (First Solar’s India arm), Jupiter, Emmvee, Mundra (Adani), Premier Energies, and ReNew with a combined annual solar cell production capacity of 13 GW.

Mundra (Adani) has an approved cumulative capacity of 3,832 MW across bifacial mono c-Si PERC (1,939 MW) and bifacial n-type TOPCon (1,893 MW), FS India Solar 3,212 MW, Premier Energies 1925 MW (bifacial mono c-Si PERC), Emmvee 1,553 MW (bifacial n-type TOPCon), ReNew 1766 MW (bifacial mono c-Si PERC), and Jupiter International 779 MW (mono PERC bifacial).

All projects covered under ALMM and with bid submission date on or before Aug. 31, 2025, are mandated to use ALMM-listed solar panels but are exempted from using ALMM-listed cells — even if the project commissioning date is beyond June 1, 2026. However, projects with bid submission date falling after Aug. 31, 2025, are mandated to use only ALMM-listed modules and cells, irrespective of commissioning timelines—i.e. even if these projects get commissioned before June 1, 2026.
