State-owned hydropower company SJVN announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), has commenced commercial operations of 100.25 MW under the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. With this, a total of 501.02 MW has been commissioned so far, and the remaining capacity is expected to be operational by October 2025.
The project will supply power to Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Power purchase agreements are already in place with Uttarakhand Power Corp. Ltd (200 MW), J&K Power Corp. Ltd (300 MW), and Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd (500 MW).
