ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has announced that its 300 MW Sikar Solar Project in Rajasthan is now fully operational, following the commissioning of the final 60 MW capacity yesterday. Earlier this quarter, the company had commissioned 240 MW out of the total capacity. With this milestone, ACME Solar’s total operational capacity has reached 2,890 MW.
Spread across 1300 acres in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the project is connected to Bikaner II substation at 220 kV and is expected to generate around 780 million units (MUs) of renewable energy annually.
The Sikar Solar project was won by ACME Solar Holdings at a tariff of INR 3.05 per kWh under SECI’s XVIII tender for 1 GW of ISTS-connected PV power projects. The tariff for the capacity won has been adopted by CERC and power purchase agreement (PPA) is expected to be signed soon.
ACME Solar has also commissioned its maiden wind project of 50 MW at Shapar, Gujarat, in the current quarter following commissioning of last turbine adding additional 3.3 MW capacity yesterday. This project is located in one of India’s highest wind zones and benefits from 25-year PPA with GUVNL. With commissioning of this wind project through in-house EPC, the company has diversified its portfolio and EPC capabilities.
ACME Solar Holdings is an integrated renewable energy player with a diversified portfolio of 6,970 MW spanning solar, wind, FDRE and hybrid solutions. With the commissioning of Sikar project, the company’s operational capacity has swelled to 2,890 MW with another 4,080 MW in various stages of implementation.
