NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL) has commissioned 110.25 MW solar capacity in Khavda, Gujarat. The capacity is the first part of NREL’s 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project.
In a separate development, NTPC Renewable Energy has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corp. Ltd (UPPCL) for a 1 GW solar project. The interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar PV capacity was won by NREL in UPPCL’s 2 GW solar auction at a tariff of INR 2.56/kWh. As per the tender, NREL can set up PV projects anywhere in India provided these are connected to the interstate transmission system.
