State-run hydropower producer SJVN expects to commission the entire 1 GW capacity of its solar project in Bikaner by October this year. With 320 MW already under commercial operation, the remaining 680 MW is scheduled for commissioning in the coming months.
Upon completion, SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) will supply the generated solar power to Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. Power purchase agreements have already been signed with Uttarakhand Power Corp. Ltd (UPCL) for 200 MW, J&K Power Corp. Ltd (JKPCL) for 300 MW, and Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd (RUVITL) for 500 MW.
