Juniper Green Energy wins 230 MW in SECI’s 1 GW FDRE-RTC tender

Juniper Green Energy Ltd has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd (SECI) for a 230 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) round-the-clock (RTC) power project at a tariff of INR 5.26/kWh.

The company secured the capacity in the SECI auction for 1,000 MW FDRE round-the-clock renewable energy. The tender requires renewable energy projects to be combined with storage systems to mimic the reliability profile of thermal generation. 

The project will supply electricity to SECI under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Juniper said it will leverage its integrated development capabilities across solar, wind and battery storage technologies to ensure consistent and reliable power delivery under the PPA. The project will be implemented in Rajasthan and will be connected to the National Grid.

The project will add 795 MWp of solar capacity, 75 MW of wind capacity and 2.2 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity to Juniper Green Energy’s FDRE portfolio, according to the company, according to the company.

It has an operational capacity of approximately 2.57 GWp and 500 MWh BESS.
