REC arm tenders 1.25 GW of ISTS solar projects

REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned REC Ltd, has invited global bids to develop 1.25 GW of solar projects, connected to the inter-state transmission system, in India. The projects are to be set up on a build-own-operate basis under the the government’s Scheme for Flexibility in the Generation and Scheduling of Thermal/Hydro Power Stations through Bundling with Renewable Energy and Storage Power.

REC will award the projects through tariff-based competitive bidding.

Bidding closes on December 26.

REC Power Development and Consultancy, formerly known as REC Power Distribution Co. Ltd, plays an active role in enhancing the distribution and transmission network of India’s electricity sector. It provides consultancy and other services in the areas of rural electrification, AT&C loss reduction strategies, implementation of smart grid projects, construction of solar PV plants, etc.
