Odisha approves Aare Solar’s 10 GWh LFP BESS assembly plant, L&T green energy equipment unit

Odisha has approved major power and renewable energy projects, including 1.35 GW of pumped storage capacity, a 10 GWh BESS assembly plant and a green energy equipment manufacturing unit.

The Odisha government has approved major projects in the power and renewable energy sector, including 1.35 GW of pumped storage capacity, a 10 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) assembly plant and a green energy equipment manufacturing unit.

The projects were approved during the 46th meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

Aare Solar Pvt Ltd will establish a 10 GWh advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) BESS assembly plant in two phases in Nuapada. The project involves an investment of INR 1,050 crore and has the potential to generate 1,400 jobs.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) will establish a green energy equipment manufacturing unit in Ganjam, involving an investment of INR 5,000 crore and potential employment generation of 700.

Jiribam Solar Power Pvt Ltd will establish a facility in Kendrapada to manufacture green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol and electro-sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF). The project involves an investment of INR 3,000 crore and has the potential to generate 1,000 jobs.

BEKEM Infra Projects Pvt Ltd will establish a 600 MW pumped storage hydropower plant in Rayagada with an investment of INR 4,020 crore, while Sri Avantika Contractor (I) Ltd will establish a 750 MW pumped storage hydropower plant in Koraput with an investment of INR 3,900 crore.

Together, the projects will add to Odisha’s power and renewable energy infrastructure and support the state’s energy and industrial development.

SICSEM Pvt Ltd will establish a manufacturing facility for silicon carbide (SiC) wafers and gallium nitride (GaN) in Khordha, involving an investment of INR 2,078 crore and potential employment generation of 1,200.
