Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy secures orders for 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan and 616 MWh BESS in South Africa

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) has secured the Balance of System (BOS) package for a 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan, India. It has also secured turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in South Africa, with a combined capacity of 616 MWh.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy (SWREL) has secured the Balance of System (BOS) package for a 534.3 MWp solar project in Rajasthan, India.

The company said the project was awarded by a leading independent power producer in India. SWREL has also secured turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in South Africa, with a combined capacity of 616 MWh. The contracts were awarded by a Middle East-based renewable energy project developer.

The total value of the two orders, including taxes, exceeds INR 985 crore.

According to SWREL, the South African contracts represent the company’s second-largest utility-scale BESS project undertaking.

They also demonstrate the strength of our customer relationships, built on consistent project execution, domain expertise and the skilled manpower we have developed over the years,” said Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy.
