Waaree Transpower, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies, will invest around INR 192 crore in establishing a 500 MVA, 400 kV transformer manufacturing facility. The new facility will strengthen the company’s capabilities across the power infrastructure value chain, expanding beyond renewable energy applications to serve a broader range of high-voltage transmission projects.

The facility is expected to become operational by April 2027 and will enable the company to manufacture transformers across the 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV voltage classes.

The expansion comes against the backdrop of rapidly growing electricity demand and the increasing need for robust transmission and distribution infrastructure, to facilitate the integration of large-scale renewable energy generation and energy storage capacity into the grid.

Waaree Transpower said the new 500 MVA/400 kV facility will complement its existing capabilities and enable it to participate in larger, more complex, and technically demanding power infrastructure projects.

The company currently has an order book of approximately INR 360 crore for execution during FY 2026–27, providing a strong foundation for its next phase of growth and capacity expansion.

“Our INR 192 crore investment in a 500 MVA, 400 kV manufacturing facility reflects our long-term confidence in the growth of India’s power infrastructure and the increasing demand for reliable, high-voltage transformation capacity,” said Viren Doshi, director, Waaree Energies Ltd. ‘As renewable energy deployment accelerates, strengthening the transmission network and enabling the seamless integration of new generation and storage capacity into the grid will be equally critical. This facility will significantly enhance our capabilities and enable us to serve customers across a broader range of voltage classes and power infrastructure applications.”

The investment is part of Waaree Transpower’s broader strategy to build a scalable, technologically advanced and diversified electrical infrastructure business, capable of supporting India’s evolving power sector, while creating capabilities for emerging opportunities across renewable energy, BESS and grid infrastructure.
