GUVNL discovers INR 2.32 lakh/MW/month tariff in 450 MW/900 MWh BESS tender
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has concluded its Phase IX tender for 450 MW/900 MWh of standalone battery energy storage capacity, with lowest discovered tariff of INR 231,989/MW/month.
NLC India Renewables Ltd emerged as the lowest bidder at INR 231,989/MW/month, with a bid quantity of 275 MW, followed by Sun Drops Energia Ltd at INR 231,990/MW/month, with a bid quantity of 410 MW.
GUVNL’s Phase IX tender sought developers for 450 MW/900 MWh of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Gujarat.
The projects will be developed on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis and will provide energy storage services to GUVNL on an on-demand basis, supporting state distribution companies (DISCOMs) during peak and off-peak periods.
Selected developers will set up standalone BESS projects connected to the state grid and make the storage capacity available to GUVNL for charging and discharging as required. The systems must be capable of completing two full charge-discharge cycles per day.
GUVNL will enter into battery energy storage purchase agreements (BESPAs) with the successful bidders. The projects are eligible for viability gap funding (VGF) under the Power System Development Fund (PSDF) scheme.
