NLC India and OREDA to form JV for 1 GW of green energy projects in Odisha

The partnership will explore the development of solar, wind, hybrid, battery energy storage system (BESS), pumped hydro storage, green hydrogen and other renewable energy projects.

NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Ltd, has signed a joint venture agreement with OREDA Ltd to develop, operate and maintain 1 GW of green energy projects in Odisha in the first phase.

The joint venture will focus on the installation and operation of renewable energy projects across the state, subject to techno-commercial feasibility and the necessary regulatory approvals. The agreement also provides for the development of additional green energy assets and related activities through forward and backward integration.

According to NLC India, the partnership will explore renewable energy technologies including solar, wind, hybrid systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), pumped hydro storage, green hydrogen, and any new potential RE technology emerging in the future.
