Why India’s DISCOM reforms need data driven decisions, not just infrastructure
Many developed economies built their grid intelligence over decades, layering digital systems onto infrastructure that was already old. India does not have that luxury, and does not need it. It is building generation, transmission, storage, and digital metering simultaneously, at a scale no large economy has attempted.

How AI Is powering India’s next generation of smart electricity grids
India’s renewable capacity is scaling at a pace few grids have had to accommodate. But solar and wind are not dispatchable in the way coal and gas are, and a grid built around predictable baseload generation struggles to absorb large, variable inflows without instability. AI-based load forecasting and demand-response systems are what actually allow a distribution network to integrate high volumes of renewable energy reliably.
