The opening ceremony for the exhibition stand of the partner country, India, took place at Russian Energy Week 2026
As part of Russian Energy Week, the official opening of the stand of India – the Forum’s partner country – took place. The event highlights the growing importance of cooperation between countries in the energy sector and opens up new opportunities for collaboration amid the transformation of the global energy market. Russian Energy Week is supported by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Moscow City Government. The Forum is organised by the Roscongress Foundation.
The stand’s opening ceremony was attended by the following officials: Nikhilesh Giri, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Russian Federation; Vladimir Khazov, Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation; Artem Ukolov, representative of The Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India; Vladimir Zatynayko, deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation; as well as representatives from relevant ministries and agencies of both countries.
The stand has become a key platform for showcasing the achievements of India’s energy sector, presenting promising projects and discussing joint initiatives in the fields of conventional and renewable energy, energy efficiency, infrastructure development and technology transfer.
India’s stand showcases the country’s oil and gas industry and the new energy sector in all their complexity and openness to cooperation. An interactive exhibition using holographic cylinders introduces visitors to partnership opportunities in exploration and production, oil refining and petrochemicals, as well as in the field of new energy sources – hydrogen, compressed biogas and environmentally sustainable aviation fuel. The main aim of the exhibition is to present India as a reliable and consistent partner, open to cooperation across the entire energy sector.
Vladimir Zatynayko, deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of Russian Energy Week, noted that this is the first time India has served as a partner country for the Forum, and thanked the Indian side for their participation “This year, India is participating as a partner country in Russian Energy Week for the first time. I would like to thank the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industries (FIPI), representing India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, for accepting our invitation and bringing projects from eight of their country’s leading companies to Moscow. The three days of the Forum provide companies with an opportunity to discuss new projects and identify areas of mutual interest for further cooperation. We look forward to seeing our Indian colleagues again at the anniversary Forum next year,” said Vladimir Zatynayko.
The stand features Indian companies from the oil and gas sector: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Oil India Limited (OIL) are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) are responsible for oil refining and the marketing of petroleum products; GAI (India) Limited specialises in the transmission and distribution of natural gas, whilst Engineers India Limited (EIL) provides engineering and consultancy services to the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors.
India’s participation as a partner country in Russian Energy Week2026 reflects the high level of trust between the two nations and their commitment to forging sustainable cooperation links in the energy sector. The forum provides a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss current industry challenges and develop joint solutions that serve the interests of both countries.“The partnership between Russia and India in the energy sector is long-term and strategic in nature. Joint projects help to strengthen the energy security of both countries and lay the foundations for the sustainable development of the sector under new economic conditions,” said Vladimir Khazov, Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
