Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd, 3M India sign MoU to provide impactful technical training program for Discoms

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), a leading power utility supplying electricity to a populace of 7 million in North Delhi, and 3M India Limited, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create a skill-based training program to enhance Electrical Safety and Compliance among the power sector professionals. The MoU was signed by Mr. Praveen Agrawal, Chief – Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Social Impact Group, Facility Management & Health Services of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited and Mr. Amit Singh, Division Sales Leader, Electrical Markets Division, Safety, and Industrial Business, at 3M India Ltd in the presence of senior officials from both the organisation in New Delhi.

Tata Power-DDL is presently in the process of implementing a program called ‘Capacity building training program for Power Discoms’ aimed at promoting best practices in the area of underground cable accessories, electrical insulation enhancement solutions and personal safety- related solutions for power discoms across the country. Tata Power-DDL’s training centre ‘CENPEID’ (Centre for Power Efficiency Distribution) will spearhead this program.

As per the collaboration, Tata Power-DDL will lead the implementation of the training programme, whereas 3M India, which is the Indian arm of USA conglomerate 3M that manufactures electrical products and other related products, will act as a technical guidance partner and advocate for best practices.

For the training program that will be offered both online and offline, Tata Power-DDL will look after the training centres and its marketing, while 3M India will support by creating training modules in order to help the centres in complying with the Guidance Manual and other related support. The training program will contain webinars, classrooms, E-Group work/ presentations, Live lectures by subject matter experts and project work, among other as a part of program pedagogy.

Sharing the objective of collaboration, Mr. Praveen Agrawal, Chief – Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Social Impact Group, Facility Management & Health Services of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited said, “Tata Power-DDL is committed to shape the talent landscape in the power sector.
