India is set to become the second largest solar PV market in 2018 with 11 GW. India is endowed with a very vast solar energy potential. International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates India’s solar potential to be greater than 750 GW and the announced wind potential is 302 GW. In order to keep pace with this market potential, the two market leaders for PV Monitoring and Management, SDS and iPLON India, have decided to join forces.

iPLON India, the market leader in India for Large-Scale/Utility and Industrial plants, will now also offer the portfolio of Solar-Log. Enlarging their already existing program will complete their offering to cover all market and customer segments. India and Sri Lanka will be the first two countries with this approach, other countries will follow.

Overall, the PV market will benefit from this cooperation through an enormous pooling of the technical and long-term know-how and experience of all employees. Further strengths of the cooperation are local setup, the comprehensive competence of both teams, and efficient handling as well as correct pricing. The cooperation starts immediately, and both teams will be available next week at the joined booth at REI 2018 in Delhi. Both teams will act and work as one team from the iPLON office in Chennai.

SDS started back in 2007 as a neutral product for inverter-independent monitoring and has become one of the main global Independent Software Vendors for qualified monitoring and energy management. SDS has decided to change its strategy for India and the region in order to further expand its market presence. Silvia Blumenschein-Schuetz, VP Sales & Member of Executive Board Solare Datensysteme GmbH, say, “We very much look forward to the cooperation with iPLON starting in India and Sri Lanka as this indicates numerous benefits, especially for the PV market customers who are interested in protecting their PV investment technically and commercially. The cooperation with iPLON and becoming part of this established and well-known market-leading portfolio indicates clearly that no other monitoring company is able to offer this setup and competence from one single source.”

iPLON started back in 2012 and is an International leader in the area of Solar PV monitoring systems and Total Life Cycle Management. Victor Thamburaj, Owner and Managing Director of iPLON India Pvt Ltd, says, “We believes in the power of this synergistic partnerships to develop unique, customized solutions for its clients. We strive together with our partner SDS to achieve new ambitious targets every time, nullifying external competition by setting its own benchmarks in the industry”. iPLON products enable solar power systems to achieve better performance and therefore higher yield. The monitoring systems operate across the field level, automation level, and management level. Moreover, the products ensure a seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the grid. In a short time, the company has established its strong presence in Gujarat and Rajasthan, including Asia’s biggest solar park in Charanka.
