NTPC Continues to Deliver Strong Operational Performance in Q2, FY 2026-27
New Delhi, 1st Oct 2026: NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power utility, continues to deliver a strong operational performance in FY27, underscoring its pivotal role in strengthening India’s energy security and accelerating clean energy transition.
NTPC recorded robust growth across generation, coal dispatch and power trading, reflecting sustained operational efficiency.
Power Generation:
NTPC recorded a generation of 117.9 Billion Units (BU) during Q2 FY 2026-27, compared with 104.4 BU during the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering a year-on-year growth of 12.93%.
Coal Dispatch:
Coal dispatch during Q2 FY 2026-27 stood at 11.899 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT), compared with 9.260 MMT in Q2 FY 2025-26, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 28.45%.
Power Trading:
NTPC’s power trading volume also witnessed strong growth, rising to 15.06 BU in Q2 FY 2026-27 from 12.34 BU in Q2 FY 2025-26, registering a year-on-year growth of 22%.
This robust performance reflects NTPC’s commitment to reliably meeting the nation’s growing energy demand and powering India’s growth.
NTPC Limited is India’s largest integrated power utility with an installed capacity of over 91 GW, with another 35+ GW under construction. The company has set a target to reach 149 GW of total capacity by 2032, including 60 GW from renewable energy sources. This includes a balanced mix of thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants, ensuring supply of reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity to the country.
Along with power generation, NTPC has ventured into various new business areas, including e-mobility, storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen solutions.
