Goldi Solar Marks Independence Day with a Renewed Commitment to Energy Independence
India | August 10, 2026: Marking India’s 79th Independence Day, Goldi Solar, one of India’s leading solar PV manufacturers, today reaffirmed its long-term commitment to building an energy-independent and self-reliant India by expanding its investments across the country’s renewable energy ecosystem. Going beyond manufacturing, the company continues to strengthen India’s clean energy future through industry-academia partnerships, workforce development, global research collaborations and community-led solar electrification initiatives that are helping build a resilient, innovation-led and globally competitive renewable energy ecosystem.
As India accelerates its clean energy transition, Goldi Solar believes that true energy independence extends far beyond generating renewable power. It requires building an ecosystem that develops skilled talent, fosters indigenous innovation, empowers communities and creates globally competitive manufacturing capabilities. Guided by this vision, Goldi Solar has invested over INR 2.6 crore in its education, skilling, research, and community development initiatives and will continue to invest in empowering more young talent, strengthening local communities, and building a more sustainable, self-reliant future for India, thereby contributing meaningfully to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
“For us, energy independence is about much more than producing solar modules, it is about empowering India with the capabilities to lead the global clean energy transition. Every manufacturing facility we build, every young engineer we train, every village we solarise and every research partnership we forge contributes to a larger national mission of creating an India that is powered by its own innovation, talent and renewable resources. As we celebrate Independence Day, we remain committed to building an energy-secure, self-reliant nation that can confidently emerge as a global clean energy hub for the world,” said Mr Ishver Dholakiya, Founder Goldi Solar.
Over the past few years, Goldi Solar has established 16 strategic partnerships with academic institutions, government bodies and leading research organisations to bridge the country’s growing solar talent gap. Through its flagship collaboration with L&T Public Charitable Trust and three premier engineering institutes in Gujarat, the company is training more than 600 students in advanced solar photovoltaic manufacturing, combining classroom learning with hands-on industry exposure to create a future-ready workforce.
Complementing these initiatives are multiple placement, internship and skill-development programmes with universities and technical institutes across Gujarat, ensuring students gain practical industry experience while supporting India’s rapidly expanding renewable manufacturing sector.
Goldi Solar’s people-first philosophy is equally reflected in its workforce, with nearly 35% of its employees drawn from tribal communities, alongside dedicated initiatives promoting gender diversity and opportunities for differently abled individuals. Through initiatives such as Knock-RE 2025, India’s largest renewable energy job fair, the company has already helped create more than 3,000 employment opportunities, including over 1,000 roles for fresh graduates, supporting its long-term vision of building a 10,000+ strong manufacturing workforce for India’s renewable energy sector.
Recognising that global leadership in clean energy will be driven as much by innovation as manufacturing, Goldi Solar has also forged research collaborations with premier institutions including IIT Bombay, Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE), the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) and BITS Pilani. These partnerships advance next-generation solar technologies and strengthen India’s position as a global centre for renewable energy innovation.
The company’s commitment extends well beyond its manufacturing footprint. Across rural India, Goldi Solar is demonstrating how access to clean energy can transform lives, strengthen communities and create long-term socio-economic impact. Through its village adoption initiatives, the company has enabled complete solarisation in villages such as Chikhalda and Dudhala, ensuring clean, reliable electricity reaches homes, schools, public infrastructure and essential services. Chikhalda’s transformation into one of India’s first fully solar-powered tribal villages under the campaign “Apni Bijli, Apni Azadi – Chikhalda Ki Kahani” stands as a testament to how renewable energy can be a catalyst for inclusive development and align with national programmes such as PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM.
As India celebrates this year’s Independence Day theme, “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future”, Goldi Solar sees the occasion as a reminder that the next chapter of India’s freedom will be defined by self-reliance. Where energy independence, indigenous innovation and homegrown manufacturing become the pillars of a stronger nation. This philosophy continues to guide the company’s journey as it invests in advanced manufacturing, research, skill development and community empowerment, helping build a Viksit Bharat that is not only energy independent but also positioned to lead the global clean energy transition.
