SPML Infra’s 104.4 kWh battery pack completes testing to international standards
SPML Infra Ltd, a publicly listed infrastructure development company in India, today announced that its 104.4 kWh battery pack has successfully completed key international safety, performance and transportation certification and testing requirements.
The SPML-developed battery pack has completed requirements under UL9540A, IEC 62619, IEC 63056, IEC 60730, IEC 61000-6-2 and IEC 61000-6-4, together with UN38.3 at the battery-pack and system level.
Together, these compliances cover critical areas including thermal runaway safety, battery performance, system functional safety, electromagnetic compatibility and transportation safety.
SPML Infra is establishing its BESS manufacturing and integration capabilities in Pune, Maharashtra, as it plans operations across battery pack assembly, engineering, system integration and large-scale project execution.
“The successful validation of our proprietary 104.4 kWh battery pack marks a significant milestone in SPML Infra’s strategic expansion into the energy storage sector,” said Abhinandan Sethi, Managing Director, SPML Infra Ltd.
Sethi said, “Beyond manufacturing and project execution, the company aims to build deep technology, engineering, and product development capabilities within the organization. The completion of internationally recognized testing and certification requirements reinforces the safety, reliability, and technical robustness of our energy storage solutions.”
“Our vision is to establish SPML Infra as a fully integrated Indian energy storage platform, encompassing proprietary product innovation, advanced manufacturing, system integration, and large-scale EPC execution,” he added.
The successful completion of certification and testing requirements for the 104.4 kWh battery pack marks another important step towards commercialization of SPML’s BESS technology and manufacturing platform.
