Advait Greenergy, GUOFUHEE showcase 5 MW alkaline electrolyser in live factory acceptance testing

The live demonstration brought together more than 70 organizations from across the green hydrogen value chain, giving participants an opportunity to evaluate electrolyser technology developed through the strategic collaboration between Advait Greenergy and GUOFUHEE under real operating conditions.

Advait Greenergy and China’s Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment (GUOFUHEE), AGPL’s electrolyzer technology partner, jointly conducted a live factory acceptance test (FAT) and technical demonstration of a 5 MW pressurized alkaline water electrolysis system capable of producing 1,000 Nm³/hour of green hydrogen at GUOFUHEE’s manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, China. The demo provided customers and stakeholders with an opportunity to observe the electrolyser operating under actual industrial conditions before deployment.

The demonstration forms part of the strategic collaboration between AGPL and GUOFUHEE, combining GUOFUHEE’s hydrogen electrolyzer technology with AGPL’s manufacturing, engineering and EPC capabilities to support the localisation of advanced electrolyser technology under India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.

“During the live demonstration, participants witnessed key operational parameters including cold start, hot restart, hot standby, dynamic load response, load regulation, hydrogen purity, operating pressure and specific energy consumption,” stated AGPL. “The event was designed to offer transparency into the performance of industrial-scale hydrogen generation systems while enabling technical discussions between customers and the engineering teams.”

According to AGPL, the programme attracted participation from more than 70 organisations representing the green hydrogen ecosystem through both physical and online sessions. Attendees included renewable energy developers, EPC companies, industrial hydrogen users, consultants, utilities and public sector organisations, with participation from companies and institutions such as ReNew, AM Green/Greenko, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India, Hygenco, Torrent Power, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, NTPC Group, and port authorities.

Rutvi Sheth, director, Advait Greenergy, said the demonstration gave customers and industry stakeholders the opportunity to evaluate electrolyser technology under real operating conditions.

Advait Greenergy has established an alkaline electrolyser assembly facility at Kadi, Gujarat, with an initial operational capacity of 30 MW per year and plans to expand manufacturing capacity to 300 MW and eventually 1 GW. The company provides integrated green hydrogen solutions spanning electrolyser manufacturing, engineering, EPC, Balance of Plant (BoP), hydrogen storage, compression and associated infrastructure.

Looking ahead, the collaboration aims to support the domestic manufacturing of advanced electrolyser technology, strengthen technology transfer, and deliver integrated hydrogen infrastructure for sectors including refineries, fertilizers, steel, chemicals, mobility, and other hard-to-abate industries.
